IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE LETTER This will confirm receipt of your registration renewal as an applicant for certification as a Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC™). It is important that you ask your employer, if any, to place a copy of this memo and your signed CADTP code of ethics in your personnel file. You will not be issued a certificate until you are certified. CADTP Registrants must renew their registration annually to keep their registration active and in good standing. The California counselor certification regulations are available on the Internet at www.dhcs.ca.gov. CADTP has established three hundred and fifteen (315) hours of formal classroom education as the minimum it will accept to be eligible for certification. The education must be accomplished at an accredited college or post-secondary institution. If you have any question whether the educational institution will be acceptable, please contact CADTP prior to enrolling. CADTP will accept the remaining minimum verifiable requirements (supervised training and paid and/or unpaid work experience) of Section 13040. Your five (5) years registration date has been extended in accordance to the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Behavioral Health Information Notice (BHIN) 20-017 and BHIN 20-016 in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. You must comply with the code of ethics you have signed and submitted with your registration during the period leading up to and after your certification.
